Torchbearers is a program started by the Central Texas Leadership Training for Christ (CTLTC) to continue the spiritual growth of our young people as they finish high school and continue into college. The program originated as a Youth Council by one of our former Board members, Byron Mathis. Byron wanted to harness the training that participants in LTC had received and use it to help LTC grow. After all we are training leaders, they could be future Board members of this or another LTC program. The format did not work as Byron had dreamed, but the idea evolved into what we now call Torchbearers. These College age young people come back, with friends, and help as door monitors, floor monitors, ushers, judges and general helpers for our (their) LTC. Torchbearers come to provide leadership through being a servant to others. They have fun and provide much needed assistance in keeping things running. Each year we offer the Torchbearers their own Convention T-Shirt, which identifies them as Torchbearers. If you would like more information on becoming a Torchbearer please complete our Torchbearer Information form or if you want to volunteer please fill out our Volunteer form.
